1. CONTACT THE POLICE. Please report the theft to the local forces of the city/village where the theft took place. You must always call the police first.
2. If your vehicle equipped with a KYCS Locate is stolen, contact KYCS by phone or internet, with your police-issued event number and vehicle information.

3. The KYCS investigation team immediately starts searching for and locating your vehicle.

Car theft is on the rise and has become a serious problem in Canada. KYCS Locate operates for 5 years – regardless of how many times the vehicle is stolen and recovered.

KYCS Locate can be transferred with the vehicle to a new owner when the vehicle is resold via a private sale within the first 36 months from the date of installation.

Consumers can cancel their purchase by returning to their dealer within the first 30 days for a full refund less an administrative fee of $50 payable to their dealer. To receive a refund, the customer must return to their original dealer for the withdrawal of the device.

Only the legal owners of the vehicle can report a stolen vehicle to the police, then call KYCS Locate to start the recovery process. If a roommate or co-buyer is not listed as the legal owner, their participation is not required.

Location is only activated once the vehicle is reported stolen, but in extreme situations KYCS Locate can work with law enforcement if needed. At no time will the client be involved.

For an automobile, the battery of the KYCS Locate device can last 6 to 7 years depending on use, temperature, etc. Out of an abundance of caution, we guarantee a duration of 5 years so that the battery never needs to be replaced. After 5 years, the device will be remotely turned off and no other recovery service will be provided. Customers who wish to continue with theft protection on a 5-year-old car can return to the dealership to purchase a new device.

Daily recording is the confirmation that the device is active and working properly. The client does not realize it, because there is neither sound nor light. More importantly, the thieves do not know either. Daily recording takes place at random times each day to make KYCS Locate even harder to trace.
